Use Flash Drive or Memory Card as Additional Memory

There are many features available in Windows 7 and Windows Vista and among them is ReadyBoost feature. It's a feature you can use to increase your computer speed.

We the help of this feature we can use Flash Drive (Pen Drive) or Memory card as an additional memory to increase the speed of our computer. We all keep with us pen drive and memory cards so if we know this feature we can use it when are system memory runs out of space. So how you can run ReadyBoost in Windows 7.

1. Put your flash drive or memory into your system.
2. When Autoplay dialog box appear click "Speed up my system" under General options.

Now Properties dialog box will appear, click ReadyBoost tab. There you will get three options. These options are explained below:

i. Do not use this device: This option is used to turn off the ReadyBoost feature.

ii. Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost: This option is used to utilize the maximum available space in the flash drive or memory card.

iii. Use this device: This is a third option which allows you to choose the amount of available space on the flash device you want to use. You can use the slider to choose the space you want.

Select the first or second option and click OK.



Now ReadyBoost will configure your device to use the cache.
